Jody Burton
Reformer Pilates Instructor
After studying dance from an early age Jody pursued a professional career in dance performance and teaching in Australia and overseas.
Returning to Perth after injury she enrolled in an Associate Diploma in Dance at WAAPA where she was first introduced to various movement therapies including Pilates, Feldenkrais and Alexander Technique. Time rolled on and her life journey has taken her on a very interesting path including attaining a BA in Language Studies and a Certificate IV in Financial Services. Eventually she went full circle, returning to Pilates to help manage old dance injuries and the general wear and tear that comes with a well lived life. Feeling the enormous benefits of Pilates in her own body, she wanted to share these benefits with others and decided to undertake Polestar Pilates training, qualifying in 2015 as a Matwork instructor and in 2018 with the higher level Diploma in Polestar Pilates Studio and Rehabilitation. Jody now enjoys the experience of helping others attain their health and fitness goals through Pilates.
Jody loves to travel and often meets up with her adult daughter in far flung places for adventure holidays. She is an animal “tragic” and is rarely without a rescue dog sharing her life.
